After consulting with our City & Guilds External Verifier, we have learnt that the present Solar Voltaic qualification is due to be updated and expanded to include other types of SSEG; wind turbines, heat pumps . . . .
Whilst we will continue to develop a course for solar pv we will not 'go live' until the details of the new course become clearer.
In the meantime we are proposing to run a one day lighting course. Lighting is changing rapidly and some electricians are finding it difficult to advise their customers on the latest technology. The course will be designed to de-mystify the rather exotic terms in which new lighting systems are described, and include an appreciation of terms such as 'lumens/watt' and 'lux levels.
It is hoped to have working examples of some of the new technology.
I would appreciate feedback from readers on whether they would be interested in such a course.
