Chris Huhne's carbon plan is a boost for the electricity industry

According to a report in The Sunday Times newspaper at the weekend, the Energy Secretary Chris Huhne is planning to replace all petrol and diesel cars with electric vehicles by 2050.  This scheme is designed to slowly replace Britain's use of fossil fuels such as petrol and gas with electricity generated by low-carbon technologies such as wind power.  He also plans that electricity should become the main form of power for private homes and for industry.

As well as the benefits noted by the Sunday Times; cutting greenhouse gas emissions and reducing urban pollution, it also seems that scheme is a boost to the electricity industry and that there has never been a better time to train to be an electrician.
